As a major recreation area for the region, Lake Boondooma attracts anglers, campers, birdwatchers and water-sports enthusiasts. There are excellent amenities, hot showers and laundry facilities and a kiosk. Fuel and oil are available. The dam has two boat ramps, pontoon, camp kitchen, electric BBQs and playground equipment. Fishing permits are required. Cabins and camping sites are offered and there is a bunkhouse for groups.
