adding something extra special to its five-week calendar of Oktoberfest celebrations.

In addition to its line-up of special Oktoberfest menus, limited-edition Oktoberfest biers, fun foodie challenges, and the chance to win a trip to Munich, The Bavarian Toowoomba will host an exclusive Oktoberfest party on Saturday, 13 October.

The party kicks off at 12.30pm with an official Oktoberfest keg tap, before The Bavarian’s lively and energetic oompah band takes to the stage giving guests of all ages a taste of traditional Bavarian entertainment.

At 1.45pm, diners can battle it out for the title of Oktoberfest Strong Man and Woman in Toowoomba’s first official stein holding competition. The winners will each receive a $50 restaurant voucher.

Toes will be tapping from 2.45pm with more live oompah music, before The Bavarian’s Sausage Throwing Competition at 3.45pm, with a $50 restaurant voucher for the winner. A traditional accordion player will take to the stage at 6.45pm, providing the perfect opportunity for guests to sit back, relax and dive into some delicious Oktoberfest menu offerings.

Toowoomba locals are encouraged to don their finest lederhosen or dirndl and strut their stuff for the Best Dressed of Oktoberfest competition at 7.30pm. The best dressed will be crowned the official King and Queen of Oktoberfest and receive a $50 restaurant voucher, with some exciting prizes to be won for the kids too. The Oktoberfest celebrations will continue throughout the evening with more live music, yodelling and traditional slap dancing.

There will be four Oktoberfest party sitting times: 11am to 1:45pm, 2pm to 4pm, 4:15pm to 7p, and 7:15pm to late. Diners are encouraged to make a reservations in order to secure a table at The Bavarian Toowoomba’s exclusive Oktoberfest celebration.

Rockpool Dining Group Chief Executive Officer Thomas Pash said the festivities taking place on Saturday, 13 October were a sensational addition to an already fantastic Oktoberfest calendar.

“We’re giving Toowoomba locals a true taste of Oktoberfest by adding some exclusive activities to the calendar,” Mr Pash said. “A jam-packed line-up of entertaining games, fantastic live music, family-friendly entertainment and awesome prizes are just another reason diners should come on down to celebrate Oktoberfest at The Bavarian.”

The Oktoberfest celebrations continue until Saturday, 27 October. Guests can sign-up to become an Oktober Boss, proving their dedication to this renowned annual festival by taking four foodie challenges: eating a pork knuckle, schnitzel, pretzel and donut pretzel. Those who tick off each challenge will achieve the ultimate Oktober Boss status and receive a limited- edition Oktoberfest t-shirt and stein and a VIP invitation to pre-drinks before the closing party on Saturday, 27 October. They will also go in the draw to win the most authentic Oktoberfest experience of them all: a trip to Munich, Germany.

The Bavarian Toowoomba is also offering three special menus throughout the Oktoberfest celebrations. There is a 3-course menu ($45pp), a 4-course menu ($60pp) and a shared feast menu ($64pp). Check out the Oktoberfest menu options here.

Five famous Oktoberfest draught biers will be poured throughout the festival: Hofbräu München Oktoberfestbier, Löwenbräu Oktoberfestbier, Spaten Oktoberfestbier, Paulaner Oktoberfestbier and Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen, which have been imported direct from Bavaria.

Oktoberfest will draw to a close on Sunday 28 October, when guests have one last chance to drink the limited-edition Oktoberfest biers and say “so-long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good night” to Oktoberfest 2018.
