We are still in Queensland but the temperature has dropped up here in wine country. More than 50 wineries and countless fruit orchards grace the Granite Belt, dotted around the town of Stanthorpe and the smaller township of Ballandean.
Plan a visit to some of the many cellar doors for a taste of the terroir and see why many of these wineries have found markets across Queensland, interstate and overseas.
Woven around the fruit and wine producers an array of boutique accommodation, hospitality venues and artisan businesses has emerged. You’ll find olive growers, cheesemakers, chocolate-makers, micro-breweries and a famous cidery in this region – and much more if you linger longer.
