There are plenty of surprises in this museum, including mineral exhibits from what was once the largest alluvial tin mining and mineral field in Queensland. Follow the area’s history as ‘Quart Pot’ became ‘Stannum’ and finally ‘Stanthorpe’ in 1872. Visit Willson’s Downfall Gaol, erected in 1876 as Australia’s most secure country gaol. Child friendly.
