Tourism Darling Downs was formed to develop and promote our region and its experiences to visitors, boosting the benefit to the local community. We are committed to quality, innovation and excellence in this endeavour.

Industry-led, our primary focus is to increase awareness and appeal of our region, thereby generating more visitors, increased length of stay and increased spend per day. We will develop and enhance the existing assets of the region and coordinate and drive the addition of new events and experiences in the region.

The Darling Downs

Tourism Darling Downs Map

The Darling Downs is a spectacular country region of Queensland noted for its adventure, outdoor offering, hospitality and country lifestyle.

In recent years the region has come of age, as quality accommodation, bars and dining are matched with great landscapes, adventure, festivals and events. This is underpinned by world class farmers, and world class produce, together with some great wines from the region.

Our key objective is to drive the all-important tourism metrics through the development and promotion of the region and its experiences.

We will be working with the more than 1,500 tourism operators, plus the affiliates, which will include farmers, producers and those enterprises indirectly involved in tourism.

Wellcamp Airport, Toowoomba has made the region accessible for domestic and international tourists, and has been instrumental in putting the region on the map, with direct Qantaslink, Airnorth and Rex flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns and Townsville.
