Attractions and Tours / Heritage / Jessie’s Cottage
Jessie’s Cottage, an original pioneering era museum, was built by the Taylor family in 1899. The cottage retained its 19th century integrity, despite the advent of electricity and other modern conveniences. Jessie, daughter to original owners, was reclusive, almost eccentric; she used to take a wheelbarrow to the local store for her shopping. The cottage has been refurnished in the style of the 1930s and 1940s. Open Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Closed December to February.
